Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – is the main patriarchate cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox. It is located in the center of Mtskheta, which is 20 kilometres away from Tbilisi. It has been the place of intrusion (entrance) of Catholicos Patriarchs of Georgia. In the yard of the church you will be able to see many of the medieval Georgian kings, their family members and patriarchs buried. The XI century Georgian architectural monument stands as one of the four From great cathedrals (Oshki, Bagrati Cathedral, Alaverdi). Those are the best examples of Georgian history.

According to Georgian hagiography, Elis brought Jesus' robe from Golgotha and then it was buried in the SvetiCxoveli church. History also says that the church would not stand and would always collapse until Jesus’ robe was buried under one of the columns. While visiting the church you can see the robe as well. 

Uplistsikhe - The city of God

Uplistsikhe – a cave town, one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus was most probably built in the VI century. Located on the 10th kilometre east of Gori, in Shida Kartli, on the left bank of the river Mtkvari. Nowadays it is a historical-architectural museum-preserve of Uplistsikhe. During the city tour in Uplistsikhe, you will be able to see the streets, squares, water sewage systems, four gates, a secret tunnel that leads to the river Mtkvari, a fence and many more. Today the city is considered to be an open-air museum.
